Optimism meets Serendipity!

Optimism....Optimism is an outlook on life such that one maintains a view of the world as a positive place. A general disposition to expect the best in all things.
Serendipity...Serendipity is the effect by which one accidentally discovers something fortunate, especially while looking for something else entirely.

I'm the optimistic one and serendipity is one of my all time favorite words. This is definitely one of those moments when my outlook on life, Optimism collided with my perfect word..Serendipity. I looked at my bundle of joy and knew instantly that I had unexpectedly fallen into an abyss of perfect moments of happiness, laughter, hope, and pure joy! This moment, this baby, was and is my optimistic-serendipity. A lifetime of hopeful dreams whisked in my mind. Before the baby had even taken shape in my belly, I remember the elation of the news. I am a Mommy. I knew life was going to be great, that optimistic inner eye envisioned a perfect family adventure with this little guy.
The first thing I did when I got home was look up my favorite quote by Erma Bombeck, I printed it out and kept in posted on my desk at home and work. I tweaked her quote to be in the present tense, but here is the jist of it...Erma Bombeck says, "Instead of wishing away nine months of pregnancy, I will cherish every moment and realize that the wonderment growing inside me is the only chance in life I have to assist God in a miracle." If that isn't optimism swirling around with serendipity, than I don't know what it is.

I love that quote. I really did enjoy my 3 pregnancies very much, except for those last few weeks when it all just becomes too much. ;o)
